Pantone: The 20th Century in Color
By Leatrice Eiseman and Keith Recker
9″ x 11″ / 208 pages

Pantone invites you on a rich visual tour of 100 transformative years. From the Pale Gold (15-0927 TPX) and Almost Mauve (12-2103 TPX) of the 1900 Universal Exposition in Paris to the Rust (18-1248 TPX) and Midnight Navy (19-4110 TPX) of the countdown to the Millennium, the 20th century brimmed with color. Longtime Pantone collaborators and color gurus Leatrice Eiseman and Keith Recker identify more than 200 touchstone works of art, products, décor, and fashion, and carefully match them with 80 different official PANTONE color palettes to reveal the trends, radical shifts, and resurgences of various hues.

Nobrow 6: The Double
22×31 cm / 128 pages

For this double issue, which will set the precedent for future issues of Nobrow, they asked over 60 artists to contribute work to the theme of Doubles or Doppelgangers. Doubles have appeared in theatre, literature and mythology from our earliest written records. From Greek and Norse Mythology to Shelly, Dostoevsky, Donne and Goethe the idea has held a tantalising grip on the human imagination, fascinating and terrorising us in equal measure. Now we turn it over to 60 illustrators and graphic storytellers to interpret it as they wish, each, taking on one ‘double’ page spread. With contributions from Tom Gauld (The Gigantic Robot), Kevin Huizenga (Ganges), Blanquet (Toys in the Basement), Malachi Ward (Utu) as well as new narrative work from Nobrow stalwarts Jon McNaught (Birchfield Close, Pebble Island), Jack Teagle (Jeff: Job Hunter) and Luke Pearson (Hildafolk) and the formidable talents of Michael Deforge and Ignatz newcomer award winner Joseph Lambert, among many, many others. Illustration submissions from the likes of Sean Lewis, Roman Muradov, Golden Cosmos, Gwenola Carrere, Andrea Kalfas, Viviane Scwartz, Katia Spitzer, Luke Best and many many more!

Paula Scher: Maps
12.3″ x 11.5″ / 144 pages

In the early 1990s, graphic designer Paula Scher (Make It Bigger, 2002) began painting maps of the world as she sees it. The larger her canvases grew, the more expressionistic her geographical visions became. Displaying a powerful command of image and type, Scher brilliantly transformed the surface area of our world. Paintings as tall as twelve feet depict continents, countries, and cities swirling in torrents of information and undulating with colorful layers of hand-painted boundary lines, place-names, and provocative cultural commentary. Collected here for the first time, Paula Scher MAPS presents thirty-nine of Scher’s obsessively detailed, highly personal creations.

Klaus
By Richard Short
7.2″ x 6.4″ / 64 pages

Visually informed by Short’s love of classic comic strips, especially Charles Schulz’ Peanuts and Tove Jansson’s Moomin, Klaus explores the un-adventures of the eponymous character, a pensive anthropomorphic cat, and a vexatious supporting cast of humanoid rats, inappropriately specie-d romantic interests and Klaus’ libertarian doppelganger Otto.
